Alexander Linsbichler is a senior postdoc at the Institute of Philosophy and Scientific Method, Johannes Kepler University Linz, where he leads the FWF ESPRIT project “Adverse Allies: Logical Empiricism and Austrian Economics.” Previously, he was a fellow at the University of Vienna’s DK program and a lecturer in Economics and Philosophy. His research focuses on the intersection of logical empiricism, Austrian economics, and the history of philosophy, particularly exploring debates between Otto Neurath and Ludwig von Mises. He has presented globally, including at conferences in Angers, Berlin, and Hong Kong, and is an active organizer of workshops like “Adverse Allies.”
Key research interests include methodological debates in social sciences, the history of epistemology, and the intellectual history of interwar Vienna. His work bridges philosophy, economics, and the history of science, with notable publications on Mises’ epistemology and the Austrian School’s methodology. Recognized for his monograph Was Ludwig von Mises a Conventionalist?, he also contributes to public engagement through podcasts and academic outreach.
