Dr. Alexander Hudson is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), specializing in comparative constitutionalism and public participation in constitutional processes. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 and has held teaching roles at the University of Texas at Austin, University of Göttingen, and Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro. His research examines citizen engagement in constitution-making, constitutional referenda, and the diffusion of constitutional language, with a focus on Brazil, South Africa, and Iceland.
