Yasmin Curzi is a professor at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Law School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Virginia's Digital Technology for Democracy Lab. She is actively involved in research and advocacy at the intersection of law, digital technology, and gender justice.
Her research focuses on human rights in digital spaces, with expertise in digital law, gender studies, and digital sociology. She has led significant initiatives such as the 'Digital Media and Conflict Prevention' project funded by the European Union and coordinates the Dynamic Coalition on Platform Responsibility at the UN Internet Governance Forum.
Curzi has contributed to international research and policy development through collaborations with organizations like Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, Chayn, End CyberAbuse, InternetLab/Revista Azmina, and NGOs such as Soul Sisters and Stop Street Harassment. Her work has helped develop MonitorA, an observatory tracking political and electoral violence on social networks.
She has held leadership roles at FGV, including coordinator of the diversity and inclusion program (2023–2024) and researcher at the Center for Technology and Society (2019–2024). As a practicing lawyer registered with OAB-RJ, she bridges academic scholarship with legal practice.
