Dr. Alexander Hitchens is a Senior Lecturer in Terrorism and Radicalisation within the Department of War Studies. His research focuses on extremist ideologies, counterterrorism strategies, and online radicalization dynamics. He has contributed to understanding Salafi-Jihadist and far-right movements, with particular attention to recruitment mechanisms and policy responses. Key projects include co-investigator roles in the EU-funded VOX-Pol initiative studying violent online extremism.
