Dr. Alexander Goodwin is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Southwestern University. He holds a PhD from the University of North Texas (2023) and a BA from Prairie View A&M University (2017). His research focuses on race and ethnic politics, Black politics, policing, social movements, and intersections of race and sports. Recent work examines respectability politics' impact on Black support for police reform.

Keynote speaker at Georgetown's 72nd Juneteenth Celebration (2024). Active in interdisciplinary collaborations across Southwestern's departments of Sociology, History, and English. Engaged in undergraduate research mentoring through programs like SURF.
