Alexander Frederick Holliman

Alexander Frederick Holliman serves as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management (DMEM) within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. He is currently completing his PhD in Design Management, building on his background as a product/industrial designer.

His research spans several interconnected domains:

• Design process optimization and influencing factors
• Development of novel design methodologies
• Design education pedagogy and curriculum development
• Product aesthetics analysis
• Integration of AI tools into industrial design workflows

His recent publications reveal strong focus on AI implications in design education, industry perspectives on AI adoption, and cross-cultural design ecosystem studies. Notable projects include the Digital Dairy Chain Innovation Voucher examining value chain visualization. His professional activities demonstrate active engagement with the Design Research Society, Engineers Without Borders UK, and international design education conferences.

As an educator, he teaches design sketching, techniques, history, and aesthetics while contributing to engineering pedagogy through workshop participation and conference organization.
