Alexander Besher is a Lecturer in Civil Law at Stockholm University's Department of Law, specializing in Company Law and Association Law. He is currently pursuing his PhD research on the corporate governance of mutual insurance and occupational pension companies in Sweden, supervised by Professor Daniel Stattin at Uppsala University and Professor Marcus Radetzki at Stockholm University.
His research interests focus on corporate governance structures, particularly examining how mutual insurance and occupational pension companies are regulated under Swedish law. His work critically analyzes the application of the Swedish Co-operative Societies' Act and Insurance Business Act to these specialized financial institutions, with particular attention to board responsibilities and management structures.
Besher's scholarly output demonstrates consistent expertise in insurance law, corporate governance, and legal methodology. His publications reveal a trajectory of increasingly specialized work on corporate structures within the insurance sector, with a strong emphasis on practical legal applications and regulatory compliance. His research connects Swedish legal frameworks with broader European Union regulations, particularly Solvency II.
