Dr Alexander Baird is an Associate Research Fellow at Deakin University's Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation within the Faculty of Arts and Education. His research focuses on green criminology, environmental crime, and water theft in Australia and transnational contexts. He leads an Australian Research Council-funded project on preventing water theft in the Murray-Darling Basin, emphasizing state and corporate commodification of natural resources. He holds degrees in Arts (Honours) and Criminology from Deakin University.
