Alexa Yakubovich is a CIHR Health System Impact Postdoctoral Fellow and CIHR-CMHC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Urban Health Solutions within Unity Health Toronto, affiliated with the University of Toronto. She holds a DPhil in Social Intervention (2019) from the University of Oxford where she was a Rhodes Scholar, an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention (with Distinction) from Oxford, and a BA (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Manitoba where she was University Gold Medalist.
Her research program investigates structural determinants of interpersonal violence and health inequities, with specialized focus on intimate partner violence (IPV) epidemiology. Key methodologies include systematic reviews, longitudinal cohort analyses, and mixed-methods approaches to inform violence prevention policies. Research examines neighborhood deprivation effects, community-based interventions, and socioeconomic drivers of health disparities.
Publications consistently address violence epidemiology, health equity, and social determinants across 15+ peer-reviewed articles. Primary themes include:
