Alexa Ann Bonomo is an Adjunct Professor (part-time) at the University of San Francisco, specializing in new media arts and technoculture studies. She also serves as Head of Education at Index Operations and collaborates with Leonardo on archiving new media works. Her creative practice bridges digital and handmade crafts, including net art, projection mapping, and fiber arts.
Education: MFA in Design (UC Davis, 2020); BFA in Digital Art and Design (Towson University, 2017).
Research focuses on internet poetics, experimental methods in preservation, and the intersection of technology with handmade traditions. Recent work explores reviving the Arts & Crafts movement for digital contexts through allegorical imagery and vulnerable data visualization.
Notable projects include worldbuilding initiatives, substack writing, and installations that blend born-digital tools with traditional crafts like cyanotype printing.
