Alex Sclip is an Associate Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Verona, Department of Management. Previously a researcher at the Universities of Udine and Verona, he held visiting roles at the University of Essex's Business School (2018-2019), the European Central Bank's Financial Directorate of Research (2023-2024), and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond (2024). His research focuses on financial intermediation, bank-enterprise relationships, SME financing, and business valuation.
Teaching includes modules such as Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, and Supply Chain Finance across undergraduate and graduate programs. He leads the 'Digital and Sustainable Transformation of Venetian SMEs' project (since Dec 2024), supporting 200 SMEs in digital and sustainability transitions through stakeholder collaborations with Veneto Region, Unioncamere, and others.
His research expertise spans corporate finance, banking, and international finance with publications in top-tier journals addressing SME financing challenges, central bank policies, and financial market dynamics. Active in academic governance, he serves on multiple departmental boards including the Management Department Council and curriculum committees.
