Professor David Skeie is a Professor of Finance at Warwick Business School (University of Warwick) and a member of the Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology. He serves on the Bank of England and HM Treasury Academic Advisory Group on Central Bank Digital Currency. Previously, he held roles including Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Mays Business School, and Visiting Researcher at Imperial College Business School. His academic expertise spans financial intermediation, crises, fintech, and corporate finance.

His research focuses on understanding financial market structures, systemic risk, and regulatory frameworks. Recent work explores digital currencies' impact on commercial banks and liquidity dynamics in crisis scenarios. He teaches advanced courses in corporate finance and financial regulation, serving as Course Director for the MSc in Business and Finance.
Current teaching modules include Dissertation (IB9JC0) and Corporate Finance (IB9V00) for the MSc Business and Finance program, and Financial Regulation and Supervision (IB9JM0) for the MSc Global Central Banking and Financial Regulation program.
