Dr. Alex Gawronski is a Lecturer in Visual Arts at the Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney. He works across multiple media as a contemporary artist, writer, and independent gallerist.

- Current projects: Co-director of ethan frome (2015-), former co-director of KNULP (2015-2024)
His research focuses on Contemporary art, Institutional Critique, and Art and political economy, exploring how neoliberal globalization affects artistic critical practice. He has curated major exhibitions like The National: New Australian Art (2017) and Stupid As (2024) at Gertrude Contemporary.
Recent publications examine curatorial practices and artist-led initiatives. Notable awards include the NAVA/Copyright Agency Mid-career Fellowship (2018) and multiple Australia Council for the Arts grants.
