Dr. Alessia Grassi is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing at the University of Leeds' School of Design, part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. She serves as Deputy Director of Student Education and Programme Leader for the BA Fashion Marketing degree. Her expertise spans Strategic Branding, Luxury Fashion, Consumer Engagement, and AI in Marketing. Grassi holds a PhD in Fashion Marketing (University of Huddersfield, 2019) and prior degrees in Economics/Accountancy and Business Consulting from Università degli Studi di Brescia.
Her research explores transformative brand experiences via art foundations, sustainability in retail, and AI applications in legal and marketing contexts. Notable projects include the DARe Flex Fund initiative on urban change and citizen engagement. Grassi has authored/co-authored over 20 journal articles and book chapters, with media contributions to Forbes, The Conversation, and BBC outlets. She actively reviews for journals like Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management and participates in global conferences.
Grassi advises postgraduate student Wenshan Shi and leads modules on Final-Year Major Projects and Marketing Strategy. Her work bridges academic rigor with industry insights, emphasizing cultural relevance and consumer-centric innovation.
