Alessandro Tavoni

Alessandro Tavoni is a Full Professor of Environmental Economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Bologna. He holds visiting roles as a Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics’ Grantham Research Institute and a Visiting Research Collaborator at Princeton University. His work focuses on overcoming behavioral and political barriers to climate cooperation through experimental and theoretical approaches.

Research & Grants: He leads the GREEN TIPPING ERC Consolidator Grant (2023–2028), investigating social tipping interventions to scale climate action. His expertise spans game theory, international environmental agreements, and experimental economics. Recent projects include co-editing a special issue on pro-environmental behavior and organizing the 2022 EAERE Conference in Rimini.
