Alessandra Trevisan

Alessandra Trevisan is a researcher at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Department of Humanities, with a focus on 20th- and 21st-century Italian literature, especially women writers like Goliarda Sapienza, Milena Milani, and Clara Sereni. She is affiliated with the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (VeDPH) and CE.DO.DI., and holds a National Scientific Habilitation as associate professor in Contemporary Italian Literature.

• Ph.D. in Italian Studies (2020), MA in Philology and Italian Literature (2014), and BA in Italian Literature (2010) from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

Her research spans textual criticism, epistolary studies, visual culture, and gender identity analysis, with a strong emphasis on Digital Humanities and publishing. Her work explores intersections between literature and new media, particularly through the lens of marginalized voices like Gabriele d'Annunzio and Matilde Serao.

Trevisan has presented at numerous international conferences, including at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (2024) and the University of Cagliari (2024). She contributes to academic discourse as a peer reviewer for journals such as Revista de Italianística and Forum Italicum, and serves on the advisory board of Kepos – Semestrale di letteratura italiana.

Her notable award includes the first non-fiction prize at the International Prize 'Città di Como' (2017) for her monograph on Goliarda Sapienza. She actively supervises BA and MA theses at Ca' Foscari, supporting students in bibliographical research and thesis writing. Alessandra also co-founded the collective Le Ortique to recover forgotten women artists and has published poetry (Le spalle al mare, 2021) and encyclopaedia entries on Italian female writers.
