Alessandra Tarquini

Alessandra Tarquini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Economic Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Political Science, Sociology and Communication, specializing in Italian Fascist history, political ideologies, and intellectual movements.

• PhD in Political Philosophy from University of Pisa (2000)
• Visiting Scholar at University of London (2013) and Université de Paris 3 (2013)

Her research spans Fascist educational policies, political religions, intellectual responses to totalitarianism, and the European Left's engagement with the Jewish Question. She has published extensively on Croce, Gentile, and their ideological conflicts.

Recent articles explore the centennial of the March on Rome (2024), Fascist historiography, and the intersection of politics and culture. She won the Laqueur Prize (2005) and Premio Maria Corti (2009).

She contributes to academic debates on totalitarianism and has served as a consultant for Italian media projects like La Storia siamo noi (RAI).
