Previously, she served as Associate Professor of the same discipline from 2008 to 2020 at the same institution. She teaches History of Public Administration, History of Political Institutions, and History and Sources of Contemporary Institutions across multiple graduate programs including Archival and Library Science, Historical Sciences, and the Specialization School in Archival and Library Heritage.
Professor Meniconi earned her Law degree with highest honors (110 e lode) from Sapienza University of Rome in 1991, completed a course in Legislative Studies (1992-1993), earned her PhD in Constitutional and Administrative History from the University of Camerino (1998), and conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Siena (1999-2001) and research at Sapienza's Special School for Archivists and Librarians (2003-2007).
Her research focuses on the history of the judiciary, advocacy professions, and political institutions in Italy, with particular emphasis on the Fascist era, the transition to democracy, and the relationship between the 1938 Racial Laws and the legal profession. She has published extensively, including two major monographs: "La «maschia avvocatura». Istituzioni e professione forense in epoca fascista (1922-1943)" (2006) and "Storia della magistratura italiana" (2013), as well as the award-winning "L'epurazione mancata. La magistratura italiana tra fascismo e Repubblica" (2022).
Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on the evolution of the Italian judiciary through historical transitions, particularly examining the period from Fascism to the Republic. She employs interdisciplinary approaches combining historical, legal, and archival methodologies, with increasing attention to oral history and audiovisual documentation in recent years. Her work shows progression from institutional history toward nuanced examinations of individual experiences within judicial transitions.
