Alessandra Lembo

Alessandra Lembo is a Lecturer in the Department of Behavioral Science at Purdue University Northwest. Her research focuses on how past experiences shape present meaning-making, employing qualitative methods. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College. Her expertise spans Culture, Sociological Theory, Qualitative Research Methods, Gender and Work, and Embodiment and Cognition.

Lembo’s work explores connections between past experiences and present interpretations, examining contexts like musical preferences and career decisions. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Social Computing and Poetics, and contributed to volumes like the Handbook of the Sociology of Morality.

Her research interests emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to understanding human agency and societal structures. Outside academia, she is an avid ultramarathon runner, balancing professional and athletic pursuits.
