Alessandra Fiorio Pla is a full Professor at the University of Turin in the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology. Her research focuses on the role of ion channels and calcium signaling in cancer progression, particularly in prostate and pancreatic tumors, with emphasis on TRP channels, tumor angiogenesis, and microenvironmental interactions.
She teaches courses on Cell Physiology, Neurophysiology, and Molecular Biology at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including the Master's in Industrial Biotechnology and PhD Program in Complex Systems for Quantitative Biomedicine.
