معرفی
Dr. Alena Krüger is a Researcher in Molecular Evolutionary Biology at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences and the Department of Biology. Her work focuses on understanding adaptation mechanisms in extreme environments through functional genomics.
- 2020–present: Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Hamburg
- 2016–2019: PhD in Molecular Animal Physiology, University of Hamburg
- 2013–2016: MSc in Marine Biology, University of Rostock
- 2010–2013: BSc in Biosciences, University of Heidelberg
Her research combines molecular evolutionary biology with physiological adaptation studies. Key work includes transcriptome analyses of whale brain hypoxia tolerance and functional studies of organic anion transporting polypeptides (OATP) in leaf beetles' plant-toxin interactions.
Recent publications and conference contributions (2017–2019) highlight her expertise in marine mammal physiology and insect molecular adaptation, culminating in her 2020 publication on whale brain aerobic capacity. She has presented at premier conferences including the Deutsche Zoologische Gesellschaft (DZG) and the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB).
