Alen Brodaric

Alen Brodaric is a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the Central Clinical School, part of the Sydney Medical School within the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. He holds an MD from the University of Queensland and has completed pre-vocational surgical training across multiple hospitals including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, and Canterbury Hospital. His research focuses on pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis, liver transplantation, and surgical training methodologies.

Current research projects include investigations into portal vein resection during pancreaticoduodenectomy, vascular resection techniques in pancreatic cancer surgery, and the use of simulation training for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy education. He is affiliated with General Surgeons Australia and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Brodaric received the General Surgeons Australia Junior Doctor Research Grant and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in areas like cannabinoid therapy for inflammatory bowel disease and surgical education innovations. He is set to begin formal General Surgery training through General Surgeons Australia and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2025.
