Dr. Aleksej Tarasjev is a Principal Research Fellow and Head of the Department of Evolutionary Biology at the Institute for Biological Research 'Siniša Stanković', a national institute under the University of Belgrade. His research focuses on evolutionary biology, plant ecology, and ecological genetics, with specific interests in phenotypic plasticity, biodiversity conservation, and climate change responses. He leads interdisciplinary projects related to environmental protection and eco-evo-devo, contributing to national and international initiatives like the SAIGE project for innovation promotion. His work bridges theoretical evolutionary biology with applied ecological research, emphasizing risk analysis and population genetics.
