Aleksandra CIEPLAK is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Lille, working in the Materials and Transformations Unit (CNRS UMR 8207) within the Physical Metallurgy and Materials Engineering research team. Based in Building C6, office 226 at the Scientific City campus in Villeneuve d'Ascq, France, she focuses on galvanizing flows and protective coatings against liquid zinc corrosion.
Her primary research interests include Materials Science, Corrosion Engineering, Surface Engineering, Metal Coatings, Zinc Corrosion Resistance, and Hot-Dip Galvanizing. Dr. CIEPLAK specializes in investigating the interaction between liquid zinc and various metal coatings, with particular emphasis on developing zincophobic (zinc-repelling) coatings that reduce zinc losses during galvanization processes.
Dr. CIEPLAK's recent publications (2022-2024) demonstrate her expertise in surface characterization of Fe-Cr-Ni-Si-P coatings, protective slurry coatings against liquid metal corrosion, and innovative approaches to reduce molten zinc corrosion of galvanizing equipment. Her work shows a clear progression from fundamental coating characterization to practical applications aimed at reducing costs and environmental impacts in industrial processes.
She maintains active collaborations with researchers including David Balloy (Professor), Ingrid Proriol Serre, and others at the University of Lille, with her research being presented at international conferences across Europe and Asia including EUROCOR 2024 in Paris, HTCPM symposium in Les Embiez, EGGA Assembly 2023 in Salzburg, and the Asia Pacific General Galvanizing Conference in Yokohama.
