Aleksandar Sedlar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš. A renowned Serbian composer, he graduated as valedictorian in composition from the Belgrade Faculty of Music Art (2006) under Prof. Vlastimir Trajković. He holds a Master's in Composition from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music (2013), studying under Prof. Donald Crockett. His academic roles include teaching assistant and secretary at the Belgrade Faculty of Music Art (2007/2008) and studies in conducting as a senior undergraduate under Prof. Bojan Suđić.
His research interests span composition, orchestration, and contemporary classical music. Notable works include Macbeth (2005), Elegy for Orchestra (2006), and Daughter of the Moon (2014), premiered at Berlin Philharmonic. His arrangements feature on Deutsche Grammophon and DECCA Universal releases.
