Aleksandar Cvetković serves as Associate Professor of Jazz Ear Training and Jazz Rhythm at the Department of Jazz and Popular Music, Faculty of Music, University of Belgrade, and holds the position of Head of the Department Council since 2012.
His academic foundation includes:
- Graduation from the Theoretical Department of the High School of Music "Stevan Mokranjac" in Kraljevo, Serbia
- Bachelor's degree in Music Pedagogy from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade
- Master's degree in Jazz (Drums) from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, Austria under Professor T. Howard Curtis
Cvetković's expertise centers on jazz performance and pedagogy, with specializations in rhythmic structures, ear training methodologies, and contemporary jazz composition. His professional development includes intensive seminars with legendary figures like John Abercrombie, Billy Hart, and Dave Liebman, while his performance practice bridges academic rigor with real-world artistry through collaborations with icons including Duško Gojković and Stjepko Gut.
He maintains an active dual career as both educator and performer, leading the Drama Organ Trio (recording "Dramathology" in 2017) and Drama Quartet while mentoring students in core jazz disciplines. His institutional contributions extend through permanent membership in ensembles like Woodcock Group and Marčelo and Napeti Quintet, demonstrating continuous engagement with Belgrade's jazz ecosystem.
