Alejandro Camacho is Chancellor's Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Land, Environment, and Natural Resources (CLEANR) at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. He also holds a courtesy appointment in Political Science and is the Florence Rogatz Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School (2017).

His research focuses on Environmental Law, Climate Change Governance, and Regulatory Design, emphasizing adaptive management, collaborative frameworks, and institutional reform. He has led interdisciplinary projects with ecologists, computer scientists, and sociologists, including a $1.2M NSF-funded initiative on Integrated and Equitable Climate Action.
Recent publications analyze ecological risk from biotechnology, tribal conservation governance, and regulatory coordination. His scholarly impact includes election to the American Law Institute and recognition as a top interdisciplinary legal scholar.
