Alecia M. Santuzzi is a Professor and Department Chair at Northern Illinois University’s Department of Psychology. She serves as Faculty Supervisor of the Interpersonal Evaluation and Measurement Laboratory (IEML) and Director of NIU Research Methodology Services. Her work bridges social psychology and organizational studies, focusing on disability stigma, identity management in the workplace, and technology-mediated interactions.
- Education: Ph.D. in Psychology from Tulane University (2004)
Her research explores how individuals with concealable disabilities navigate workplace interactions, the psychological costs of disclosure decisions, and the role of metaperceptions in evaluative social contexts. She investigates technology-induced stressors like telepressure and their impact on employee well-being, using mixed-methods approaches to assess workplace inclusion initiatives.
Recent publications analyze disability measurement frameworks, neurodiversity inclusion strategies, and psychometric challenges in stigma research. She collaborates with the Invisible Disability Group (IDG) and Center for Research on Collaboratories (COTELCO), advocating for policy changes to support workers with invisible disabilities.
