Aldo Fabregas Ariza

Dr. Aldo Fabregas Ariza is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Engineering within the College of Engineering and Science at the Florida Institute of Technology. He teaches key courses in systems engineering, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Engineering, System Modeling and Analysis, and Decisions & Risk Analysis.

His research focuses on digital engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and energy systems modeling, with strong applications in manufacturing and decision support. His expertise spans simulation, mathematical programming, and machine learning for complex system design and analysis.

Dr. Fabregas has led sponsored research projects funded by the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Consumer Affairs, the International Development Bank, and aerospace companies on the Space Coast. He previously served as a Research Associate at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida, where he worked on transportation analytics and intelligent systems.

He holds professional certifications as an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) and an OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP). He is an active contributor to IEEE Systems Engineering and Transportation Research Board conferences, both as an author and reviewer.

His work bridges academia and industry, particularly in digital thread applications for manufacturing and simulation-based decision support systems in transportation and aerospace domains.
