Aldo Billingslea is a full-time Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he has served since 1998. His expertise spans acting, directing, and performance collaboration, with a focus on Shakespearean and contemporary theatre.

As a practitioner-scholar, Billingslea's work bridges academic training with professional production experience. He has directed notable works such as August Wilson's Radio Golf (TheatreWorks Silicon Valley) and Shakespeare's Othello (California Shakespeare Theatre), while also contributing to adaptations like Ken Kelleher’s Meet John Doe. His pedagogy emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, reflected in courses like Acting Styles: Shakespeare and Performance Collaboration.
Outside academia, Billingslea co-founded the Actor’s Reading Collective (ARCstream.org) and directed the Santa Clara County Public Defender's Office informational video. He also served as Theatre Program Director at The 222 Arts (The222.org). Recent collaborative projects include co-directing Eric Coble’s Fairfield (Pear Theatre, 2021) and exploring themes of systemic bias in contemporary performance.
