Aldis Lavins is a Lecturer at the University of Latvia, affiliated with the Faculty of Law and the Department of Civil Law. He holds an M.Sc. in Law (Mg. iur.) and serves as a Judge of the Constitutional Court, having previously been its President (2014–2017; 2022–2024). He also acts as Latvia's representative on the Council of Europe's Venice Commission (2020–2024) and is a Senator of the Supreme Court's Senate since 2008.
