Alden Littlewood

Dr. Alden Littlewood is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at University of Maryland School of Medicine and serves as Chief of Psychiatry for the Midtown Campus. She specializes in acute psychiatric interventions for young adults with serious mental illness, including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, and complex trauma presentations.

Her clinical leadership extends to directing emergency psychiatric services and the adult psychiatric day hospital program. Research interests focus on crisis stabilization models and transitional care for young adults moving from adolescent to adult mental health services.

Board-certified in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Littlewood brings developmental perspective to treatment of early psychosis and severe mood disorders. She completed fellowship training at University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt following residency at LSU/Ochsner.
