Alberto Politi serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on quantum photonics and integrated optical systems, with expertise in silicon nitride photonics, quantum emitters, and nanophotonic devices. Politi leads multiple research projects funded by EPSRC and the European Union, developing cutting-edge quantum technologies.
His research interests span Quantum Photonics, Integrated Optics, and Nanophotonics, with specific focus on silicon-based quantum light sources, photonic crystal cavities, and phonon-polaritonic systems. Politi's work bridges fundamental quantum optics with practical implementations for quantum computing and communication.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals a strong emphasis on silicon photonics platforms (2025-2019), quantum light generation (2020), and nanoscale spectroscopy techniques (2020-2018).
