Alberto Piatti is a Researcher at the Department of Innovative Technologies of SUPSI and holds teaching roles at multiple institutions. He is affiliated with the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) Faculty of Computer Science. Born in 1977, he earned a Mathematics diploma from ETH Zurich (2001), a teaching qualification (2002), and a doctorate in Economics from USI (2006) under Fabio Trojani and Marco Zaffalon, collaborating with the IDSIA Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
He has taught mathematics at USI’s Faculty of Communication Sciences since 2002, SUPSI’s DTI since 2003, and the Alta Scuola Pedagogica since 2004. His research interests span economics, AI, and mathematics education. He leads the Swiss Mathematical Society of Italian Switzerland (SMASI) and represents USI in the Swiss Mathematical Society (SMG).
