Ass.-Prof. Albert Osso Castillon is an Assistant Professor at the University of Graz's Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, affiliated with the Faculty of Environmental, Regional and Educational Sciences. His research focuses on large-scale climate variability and predictability at sub-seasonal to seasonal timescales, emphasizing interactions between climate system components. He holds a PhD and is a Privatdozent (Priv.-Doz.).
Research Interests: Climate predictability, air-sea interactions, monsoon-desert teleconnections, stratospheric dynamics, and climate change impacts. His work bridges climatology and meteorology, addressing both theoretical and applied aspects of climate science.
Awards: Recipient of the 2008 AGU Student Paper Award. Active in research networks including RegIMOS (Regional Integrated Modeling and Studies) and the Climate Change Graz initiative. Member of the UNIGRAZ Research Careers Campus.
Labs/Teams: Participates in the Wegener Center's interdisciplinary climate research groups and collaborates with international teams on climate modeling and prediction.
