معرفی
Chris Fletcher is an Associate Professor and Chair at the University of Waterloo, actively conducting research in climate science since joining the Department in 2010. His work focuses on computer modeling of the global climate system, with emphasis on atmospheric circulation's role in regional temperature and precipitation patterns across North America and Europe. He employs advanced simulations on supercomputers to project future climate changes over timescales ranging from seasons to centuries.
- Research Interests: Climate Modelling, Climate Dynamics, Climate Change, Tropical-Extratropical Teleconnections, Seasonal-to-Decadal Climate Variability, Land-Ocean-Atmosphere Interaction, Snow Albedo Feedback.
- Recent Courses Taught: ENVS 278 (Advanced Environmental Research Methods), GEOG 316 (Multivariate Statistics), GEOG 408 (Earth's Future Climate), GEOG 652 (Climate Prediction, Modeling, and Scenarios).
- Scientific Award: Sharcnet Research Chair (2010-2012).
His research group develops expertise in scientific computing, physical climatology, and big data analysis, creating opportunities for graduate students and research assistants interested in climate projections.
