Huanping Huang

Huanping Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography & Anthropology at Louisiana State University (LSU), within the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. His research focuses on weather and climate extremes, including tropical cyclones, atmospheric rivers, and the impacts of climate change on agriculture and natural resources. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College (2019), an M.S. in Meteorology from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2013), and a B.S. in Geographical Information System from China Agricultural University (2010).

The Climate Extremes and Modeling Group, led by Huang, employs climate models and observational data to address high-impact questions like future extreme event projections and resilience strategies.
