Albert N. Kimbu is Professor of Sustainability in Business and Co-Director of the Centre for Sustainability and Wellbeing in the Visitor Economy at the University of Surrey. His research examines tourism entrepreneurship, gender equity, and inclusive development in resource-scarce contexts across Africa and beyond.
As Director of the Gender Entrepreneurship and Social Policy Institute, he leads projects with UNWTO, World Bank, and ITF examining women's empowerment in tourism. Education includes PhD in Tourism Management from Nottingham Trent University and MA in Heritage Management from Brandenburg University.
Publications explore blockchain in tourism, ethnic minority travel experiences, crisis resilience in African tourism, and social entrepreneurship. Recent projects include GCF-funded sustainable tourism planning in Cabo Verde and ESRC-funded equity initiatives in travel.
