Alba Quintairos Soliño

Alba Quintairos Soliño serves as an Interim Part-Time Teacher (4 hours) in the Department of Translation and Linguistics at the Faculty of Philology and Translation, University of Vigo. She actively contributes to the TI4 Translation & Paratranslation research group.

Her academic foundation includes a 2023 Doctorate from the University of Vigo, awarded for the thesis "A simple vista, translating the text-image relationship in the police manga 'Detective Conan'", supervised by Dr. Robert Neal Baxter.

Specializing in multimodal translation, her research examines text-image dynamics in comics through lenses of Visual Translation and Manga Translation. She investigates paratextual elements in Japanese-to-Spanish manga localization, with particular expertise in crime genre narratives.

Her scholarly activities are centered within the TI4 research group, which pioneers innovative methodologies in translation theory and cross-cultural adaptation of visual media.
