Alan Salzenstein is a full professor at DePaul University serving as director of the Performing Arts Management program in the School of Music and the MFA/Arts Leadership program in The Theatre School. He is a past president of the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) and international correspondent board member for ENCATC.
His educational background includes:

- JD, Chicago Kent College of Law
Salzenstein's research centers on arts administration, cultural management and policy, and arts law. With over thirty years of executive experience across diverse arts organizations, he has produced theater in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, developed major special events, and maintained active consulting services for artists and cultural institutions. His expertise is regularly sought as an international speaker across North America, Europe, and Asia.
As program director for Performing Arts Management and MFA/Arts Leadership, Salzenstein oversees comprehensive student training, curriculum development, and professional mentorship in arts administration. His leadership extends to editorial roles including board chair of Classical Kids Music Education and service on the ENCATC Research Award jury.
