Alan Robertson

The Hon Alan Robertson is an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University (ANU), where he graduated. He is a legal practitioner admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in 1980. His career includes roles as assistant to the Commonwealth Solicitor-General (1981–1983), membership at the New South Wales Bar (1983 onward), and appointment as Senior Counsel in 1995. He specialized in public law, including constitutional, administrative, revenue, and competition law. He served as a part-time member of the Administrative Review Council (1992–1997) and later held judicial roles, including Judge of the Federal Court (2011), Deputy President of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and Deputy President of the Australian Competition Tribunal. He is currently Deputy President of the Australian Academy of Law.
