Alan Regenberg, MBE serves as a Research Fellow and Director of Outreach and Research Support at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. He plays dual roles in both scholarly research and practical application of bioethics principles, serving on the Institutional Review Board (IRB-6) and the Institutional Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee (ISCRO). As coordinator of the Research Ethics Consultation Service (RECS), he provides rapid-response support to researchers and manages the Institute's public engagement through social media platforms and publications including The Berman Institute Bioethics Bulletin and Weekly Bioethics Email Digests.
His educational background includes:
- BA in History and Psychology from Rutgers University
- MBE (Master of Bioethics) from the University of Pennsylvania
Mr. Regenberg's research spans critical areas in contemporary bioethics with particular focus on ethical challenges during public health emergencies. His work consistently emphasizes community values and equity considerations, especially for vulnerable populations:
