Professor Dr Alan Peter Walsh, LLB (Hons), D.Univ (hc), is a Visiting Professor in Coronial Law at the University of Bolton since 2020. He chairs the Law Board of the Centre for Contemporary Coronial Law, the only such center in England & Wales. Previously, he served as a Solicitor from 1975-2010, becoming joint Senior Partner at Russell & Russell Solicitors, and worked as an HM Area Coroner (2013-2020), including as HM Senior Coroner (acting) for Manchester West from 2019-2020.

Alan Peter Walsh currently serves as an Independent Member and Member of the Audit and Ad hoc Appointments Committee at the University of Bolton. He transitioned from a 37-year legal career to full-time coronial work in 2010, later becoming a visiting academic in 2020.
