Jessica Walsh is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Buckingham, affiliated with the School of Law within the Faculty of Computing, Law and Psychology. She serves as Director of LLM Programmes and Lawyering Skills and Competitions Lead. Her academic credentials include a PhD from the University of Surrey and an LLB in European Law from the University of Warwick, complemented by a trilateral European legal education program spanning three countries.
Her research focuses on judicial independence, accountability mechanisms in Latin American judiciaries, and non-court dispute resolution. She has consulted with organizations like the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law and contributed to the International Journal for Court Administration. Her professional background includes solicitor qualifications (2012), training at DAC Beachcroft LLP in London, and legal experience in Barcelona.
Teaching spans competition law, EU law, contract law, and international human rights. She leads the Legal Skills and Procedure module and organizes national/international mooting/negotiation competitions. Teams coached by her have achieved semi-finals in the 2024 Telders Moot and top rankings in the 2023 CEDR Negotiation Competition.
