Alan Kaschub is a Lecturer in Music Theory at the Osher School of Music within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Southern Maine. He has served as Director of the USM School of Music since 2013. Previously, he coordinated and taught Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Music Technology courses.

- Master of Music (MM) from New England Conservatory of Music
His teaching and service emphasize technology as a tool for fostering student creativity, particularly through composition, film score production, rap music, and ear training. He has applied this approach in USM’s curriculum and outreach programs to Maine’s K-12 schools. Additionally, he co-taught a summer Music Technology course for graduate students and music teachers.
Mr. Kaschub has performed with ensembles such as the Portland and Bangor Symphonies, Norumbega Brass Ensemble, and Portland Trumpet Ensemble, reflecting his background in trumpet performance under mentors like John Schnell and Charles Schlueter.
