Dr Alan Brener is an Associate Professor (Teaching) at University College London’s Faculty of Laws. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary University of London and an LLM from UCL. His research focuses on commercial law, financial regulation, UK housing policy, and public policy. He is Deputy Director of the Centre for Ethics and Law at UCL and a member of the Quality and Standards Committee of The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. Additionally, he is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He also contributed to establishing the Banking Standards Board during a secondment from Santander.
