Alan Borkenhagen

Alan Borkenhagen is a Lecturer affiliated with the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He has dedicated his career to music performance and accompaniment for dance and choral ensembles.

• BFA in Inter-Arts from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (1983)

Research & Professional Activities: Alan's work bridges music and dance, specializing in piano performance for dance classes. His expertise spans classical and popular piano, along with multiple instruments including cello, clarinet, oboe, flute, recorder, and guitar. He has contributed to inter-arts education and choral accompaniment across various institutions.

• Dance Musician at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee
• Accompanist for Milwaukee Ballet (post-graduation)
• Choir accompanist at St. Luke's Parish (20 years)
• Current accompanist at Berea Lutheran Church and a Christian Science church in Bay View
• Former accompanist in Wauwatosa school system (2002-2009)

• Honors in Piano competition, England (judged by the Queen’s Pianist)
• 1st place in youth symphony competition with Greater Milwaukee Touring Youth Symphony
