Alain Puisieux

Professor Alain Puisieux is a university professor (PU-PH) in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin (UVSQ) and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Curie Institute since May 2024. He is also a member of the French National Academy of Medicine and the French National Academy of Pharmacy.

Education: Doctorate in Boston at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Diplôme de Pharmacien (pharmacist diploma).

Research Interests: His work focuses on tumor development dynamics, cancer cell plasticity, and epithelial-mesenchymal transitions. He has pioneered understanding how cancer cells adapt during tumorigenesis and metastatic spread, introducing the concept of 'cell compliance' in cancer evolution.
