Jan Borm

Jan Borm is a Full Professor in British Literature at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) and Vice-President of UVSQ for International Relations. He co-directs the interdisciplinary Arctic Studies Master 2 program affiliated with the University of Paris-Saclay and serves as Director of the Malaurie Institute of Arctic Research Monaco-UVSQ. A renowned specialist in travel literature and Arctic studies, he has authored and co-edited numerous works, including books on Jean Malaurie and Arctic representations, and contributes to journals such as Polar Record and Studies in Travel Writing.

His research focuses on Arctic humanities, cultural history, and indigenous narratives, often bridging interdisciplinary collaborations. Current projects include the Belmont Forum NICH-ARCTIC initiative and participation in the EDU-ARCTIC consortium. He edits the 'Arctic Humanities' book series for Brill and leads Arctic humanities workshops like 'One Health in the Arctic'.

Jan Borm contributes to UArctic Thematic Networks on Arctic Cultures and History (ARCH) and Circumpolar Archives, Folklore, and Ethnography (CAFE). He has co-organized Arctic knowledge programs, including intensive workshops, and collaborates with institutions like the University of Lapland and the French National Research Agency (ANR) through projects such as Green Greenland and POLARIS.
