Al B. Benson III, MD is a Professor of Medicine in Hematology/Oncology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as Associate Director for Cooperative Groups at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center (NCI-designated) and holds clinical roles at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. His academic focus spans gastrointestinal oncology, clinical trials, and cancer guideline development.
- Educations: MD from SUNY Buffalo (1976), Residency at University of Wisconsin Hospitals (1979), Oncology Fellowship at University of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center (1984).
